In case you didn’t know already, our “New Old House” was my dream all along! I call it “Historically Inspired” and Mark calls it a pain in the butt. Juuustt kidding! 😉 Mark is a smart man and he loves me soo much. He’s made my dream of living in a historic home a reality with our constant design updates, but he gets to avoid the major plumbing and electrical headaches since our home is really a new build. Hence, the “historically inspired” description.
It’s only fitting that our kitchen is the perfect mashup of new build and vintage. From the sketched {by me} design to the beautiful old sink and the incredible antique soda fountain stools, it’s just better than I could have dreamed as a girl. {Thank you Mark and Dad!} While we honestly all enjoy the “newness” of our home, my mission is always to have it lean more vintage. Generally, I have to get creative, but that’s the best part!
If you remember, four out of my five DIY projects to start the year included updating our coffee bar. {If you ask me, I’m doing pretty dang good getting through these projects.} When we first moved into our home, we had a little nook in our kitchen where we kept our coffee maker. But both of our home based businesses took off around the same time {yay!} and we realized we needed space for office supplies. So I decided to move our Nespresso coffee maker to a kitchen counter and used this nook next to the fridge for our printer and office-y things.
But remember, now we have the Cloffice and a designated space for office stuff! We were able to move our coffee bar back into its designated spot!
In the few short years it wasn’t a coffee bar, Mark turned into some sort of coffee connoisseur. Seriously. Listen to what he thinks he needs now: a Stanley Stay-hot French Press, an Electric Kettle and Drip Coffee Maker. Don’t forget we already have my beloved Nespresso too! You never know what kind of coffee he’s going to make from day to day. I lost space on my counters, because of his new habit. So I am extra thankful to have our cute and functional Coffee Bar back. And we’re able to hide everything behind the pretty cabinets – even better! Once I find my peel and stick wallpaper I will add it!
Yes, I have a Butler’s Pantry. Wish I had a Butler to go with this pantry 😉 I love this corner of our kitchen, but it doesn’t get the credit it deserves. This is where our Coffee Bar had been relocated to after it lost it’s spot next to the fridge to the office supplies. After we shifted things around, I rarely showed this space on my Instagram or Facebook or anywhere. Today, pretty little pantry, you get a shout out!
I spy an updated coffee table AND new curtains! DIY Project three of five, was having Mark cut down an old table to “coffee table height.” So much of this room is angles so I thought a nice round coffee table would help soften the feel. Mark sawed the legs off a table around Christmas and I have since painted it more than once. After painting it red and green, I landed on a grey-ish white we shall say. For now, I think I like it! Did you notice my sweet Valentine Decor on the table too?
While I love the table, the best part of this room, may just be the dang curtains. You guys know I love finding tablecloths and hot glueing or taping them to look the way I want. {I like tablecloths, because I have high ceilings and curtains can be so expensive.} But, Amazon for the win on these actual curtains! Did you notice I even bought a set that I cut down and hung over the kitchen sink? I’m so impressed with the quality that I may never go back to tablecloths. Who am I kidding here, I will always consider tablecloths.
I may need one of these coffee cabinets in my next house!! Looks awesome, the wallpaper will be adorable. Didn’t you have a website for a person who does country farm house plans? I am searching for the perfect farm house plan 🙂
Yes, his name is Jay. You can find those at freefarmhouse.com
Thank you so much!
I have loved your tablecloth curtains. I have used this for my Christmas curtains two years in a row. But I’ve taken it one step further and just pinned them at the top, to make the rod pocket. I really love your decorating style!
That is so smart! I love using tablecloths to inexpensively change things up!
Love the coffee bar/ststion!station!! Your house is so inspiring with ideas!! Thank you for sharing with all of us!
Thank you so much Rachel!
You are so talented and I so relate to your style.
Also, in September I’m traveling to Fripp Island and I see it’s actually located close to the town of Beaufort. I’m excited to see the quaint town.
You will love it! I’ve actually never been on fripp but hear nothing but amazing things.
I know of a good electric kettle that’s vintage inspired, trust me you wouldn’t want to tuck that beauty away. She could have the spotlight of the butlers pantry now. 😜❤️
I know of a good electric kettle that’s vintage inspired, trust me you wouldn’t want to hide her away. She can steal the spotlight on the butler’s pantry now! 😜❤️

So as always EVERYTHING you touch turns beautiful!! Love the curtains, I’m about to order them with the blue accents. I absolutely adore your coffee table too! Coffee bar, well darn you’ve got the best places to hide the necessities…..I have to ask though since I zoomed in to look at the coffee bar I noticed a long pole attached to the window above your pantry. What is that for? Is it to open the window? Just curious, I’m sure you’ve answered this before tho
Hey Susan! Thank you so much! That is a transom operator. Now my transom is fixed and doesn’t actually function, but I love to add in those small nostalgic details.
Your home will forever be my favorite. Thank you for sharing your home and your family with us. Much love from Denton NC💚🤍💚🤍

Love your space! And you friend! 🤗❤️
thank you so much Autumn! Thankful you hang out with here friend.
I love your hidden coffee bar! I noticed on instagram that your doors slide in out of the way, I would love to try to do this on a larger scale to hide my washer and dryer do you have a link to the hardware you used for your doors that may lead me in the right direction? Your home is amazing 🙂
Oh, I actually don’t. The cabinet maker was in charge of all of that but I just recently saw an account on IG that has done this! Do you follow Ponderosa and Plaid? She may have info you need for the larger scale doors.
I absolutely love your home and family. Your decor style is awesome and always so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your home and family with all of us here in IG world. I have a question. Is that a microwave built in to the end of the island? Awesome idea if so. So excited to see what you have in store for us with the warmer temperatures ahead.
You are so kind Wendy! I am so thankful for the friends made here. It is a microwave! I actually don’t love it. I probably would have tucked a regular ole microwave into the pantry if i had it to do over again.
